We talked not once (Disney’s shareholders meeting), not twice (CinemaCon 2019), but three times (Avengers: Endgame press event) about this scene, and many fans probably know it by heart by now. But Marvel just made it available for everyone to see, almost in its entirety. With less than three weeks to go until the Avengers: Endgame premiere, we get to see the plan to go after Thanos in full, as it will be presented in the movie.
Before you ask, this isn’t a massive spoiler. We already know this is the crux of Endgame. They want to beat Thanos once and for all — and we know how they think they can do it. But if you don’t want to see any scenes from the movie at all before April 26th, now’s a good time to hang back and ignore this new video.
The scene aired first on Good Morning America, before finding its way online. We might know exactly what happens, and we might know what each character says, but actually seeing the scene is incredibly satisfying.
This isn’t the full scene that Disney and Marvel showed privately before, as it lacks Rocket and Nebula dialogue. The raccoon is the one who mentions the Infinity Gauntlet’s energy signature before Natasha says her first line in the scene. Nebula, meanwhile, knows precisely where Thanos has retired to. We also don’t get to see the scene of them flying to space aboard the Benatar — it looks like Marvel doesn’t want the general public to know too many details about this pivotal moment. But they showed a bunch of Avengers in the ship in a trailer last week:
But even so, this short scene is remarkable. The tension and fear in the room are palpable. So is the anger and determination, the desire to avenge the planet and undo the Snap. Bruce Banner may want to go the cautious route this time around, but Natasha, Captain Marvel, and Captain America seem determined to get Thanos as soon as possible, to get the Stones back, and use them to save everyone. You know, “just like that.”
We get some great interactions between the “new girl” and the other characters, with Rhodey being quite interested to know where she was all along. So do we, Rhodey, so do we. And then there’s the now-famous Thor scene where the mighty god raises his arm calling the new Stormbreaker axe. The weapon whizzes by Captain Marvel, but she doesn’t move or flinch. He likes this one. So do we, Thor, so do we.Even after Thanos snapped away half of all life on Earth, some of its mightiest heroes are asking the same questions we are: why didn’t Carol Danvers show up sooner? Well, allow Captain Danvers to give you the answer.
Good Morning America released the first official clip from Endgame this morning, giving us the closest thing to an “extended” look at the film we’ve had so far. It’s actually, in part, footage that was recently screened to press at Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon last week, but now we can actually see it instead of just reading descriptions.
I love Carol’s low-key arrogance of “well, let’s just go punch this guy and take his stuff” in this scene, but her best reaction is saved for when Rhodey asks that, if Carol’s so super, why hasn’t she showed up to help out in any of the Avenger’s previous adventures. The look on her face when he says it is brilliantly eye-rolling, but her response is much more diplomatic:
Stills from Sunday’s Avengers: Endgame global press conference filmed in Los Angeles have been released. Of course, you can watch the near-30-minute press conference here.

Avengers: Endgame opens in North American theaters April 26.
SINGAPORE – Marvel superhero film fans, get ready: Tickets for the year’s biggest movie, Avengers: Endgame will go on sale from Wednesday morning (April 10).
In addition to creating collectable snack packs for the movie, which is expected to break box office records for the year – if not for several years – the blockbuster’s extra long run time of three hours has vendors expecting higher snack sales.
At least one cinema chain, Cathay Cineplexes, has created an extra large “survivor pack” to avoid the need for a snack run mid-way.
Shaw Theatres will also launch its new IMAX hall at Jewel Changi Airport with the film.
A spokesman for Golden Village (GV), Singapore’s largest cinema chain, says that Avengers: Endgame, the second and closing part of a story begun in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) is “one the most anticipated films to be released in 2019”.
“We’ve received numerous public inquiries about advance sales for the film in the past month,” she says.
GV, like the other chains, will not be offering any sneak or advance screenings for the public and, like others, it will apply standard ticket prices.
GV’s deals include a package for its Gold Class premium halls. For $62, ticketholders will get a pair of tickets, two servings of crispy wings, french fries, garden salad and drinks.
Cathay Cineplexes will offer an Avengers: Endgame snack combo at $14.90, which includes a medium popcorn and a drink in a collectable character cup with the choice of an Iron Man, Captain America or Thanos image.
In addition to screening the film in premium and regular halls, Shaw Theatres is banking on its larger-format IMAX technology to draw fans.
A spokesman says: “Avengers: Endgame is the second Hollywood film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.”
“This means that exclusively in IMAX theatres, Avengers: Endgame will be presented with up to 26 per cent more picture than standard theatres, for a truly immersive experience.”
The chain will screen the film in IMAX at Shaw Theatres Lido, JCube, Waterway Point and at the new cineplex at Jewel.
All cinema chains are expected to start screenings of the movie on the morning of April 24.
